"We have found Jeanni to be a breath of fresh air within the world of art demonstrations. Her uniquely enthusiastic approach, combined with sound product knowledge is a winning combination. The critical areas of success in demonstrating art products are as follows: artistic ability; enthusiasm; the ability to be able to easily communicate/teach/inspire all types of people; and to convey a sense of fun and enjoyment – its meant to be fun after all ! Jeanni excels in all these areas, but it is her vision and organisation to be able to address these key points to large groups of people from disparate backgrounds – all at the same time – that makes her really stand out. A great partner for Chroma products, and we look forward to working with Jeanni for many years to come.” |
Gill, artist..I was born and grew up in Kent, but have holidayed all my life in Cornwall. Despite now living in Germany, I still get over at least a couple of times a year. I met Jeanni for my very first art lesson in 2012 where within 3 hours I had learned so much and discovered a new hobby. I work with acrylics and enjoy trying out new ideas and methods. Two of my favourites are pointillism and paint pouring, but I never tire of a sea view.

Martin, artist..On your pilgrimage to the Cornish Atlantic coast I highly recommend my Art psychologist Jeanni ( Wendy Rhodes) before she starts her new assignment with Bobby Axelrod. She has sorted out my sharp edges, my colour contrasts are now subtle and show high detail. Leaving Mawgan Porth the focal point.

Sheilah, artist..I took lessons with jeanni. She was a brilliant teacher with great patience. I had never drawn or painted before and Jeanni was fantastic. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn to paint.

Sharon, artist...Coastal inspired art.
Having always loved art as a child, education, work and life got in the way of continuing with art as I got older. But I always dreamed of picking up a paintbrush and sitting on a beach making a painting. Living by the coast is my biggest inspiration. A few years ago, having lost confidence but still desperate to start painting, I found Jeanni and her 3 lesson art course. It was like taking a foundation course in art and I learned so much. Jeanni is such an enthusiastic and motivating teacher, who quite literally ‘opened my eyes’ to the possibilities for making art and left me hungry for more. Her course was the springboard to what has become a real passion for me. I have since taken a number of other courses, attended Newlyn School of Art and have found a love of life drawing and portrait drawing through local college courses. I can hardly believe how much I have learned and achieved....and really have to credit Jeanni for inspiring me, giving me confidence and giving me a solid foundation of art understanding on which to build. I now paint all the time from my own studio in St Mawgan and have sold work via three galleries, exhibitions and privately. My work is always inspired by the coast and my palette strongly reflects that! I enjoy making semi abstract and impressionist seascapes, and abstract works inspired by beach finds such as pebbles and shells. The best thing about making art for me is the constant exploration, learning and opportunities to play! Mike, artist...Through Jeanni, I took up art again after a gap of more than 20 years. Last time round, I made early progress through a home study course, which was good but ultimately only of limited value.
Now retired, with more time to spare and in search of that Big New Interest, my thoughts returned to art and – bingo! – I discovered Jeanni. I was effectively starting out again as a beginner. Jeanni came highly recommended in ever so many ways from all sorts of people, and I was not disappointed – she was a revelation. It was immediately apparent that she was anything but “just another art tutor.” She had something very different and special to offer – both with her basic teaching methods and with the psychology she employed to turbo-charge progress and results. More than anything, she blew me away with her PASSION for her subject, the infectious enthusiasm with which she applied her teaching, and her readiness always to go that extra mile, wherever necessary, with her tuition, support and encouragement. In short, she is extraordinarily good value for money. She has ticked a thousand boxes for me in my quest for that Big New Interest and my aspirations to become a gallery-standard artist. There is nothing to match the pleasure and satisfaction of sitting down with your paints and brushes and indulging in your own creation, your own interpretation, of a thing of beauty. In my case, that means seascapes and landscapes – of which there is no shortage here in our beloved Cornwall! Tutor Jeanni has a super style, born of long years of experience in both the doing, as an accomplished artist, and the teaching. She doesn’t pressure you in any way. You feel entirely comfortable as she goes along at a pace very much suited to your own nature and needs. She’s a winner – and in a remarkably short space of time she makes you feel one, too! |
Lorraine, artist..."Growing up in the 70's, the traditional path for a girl was to get married and have children. I felt frustrated, sidelined and invisible. My escape from these beliefs came during carefree childhood holidays. Freedom to splash around in the sea, build sandcastles and run wild. And on weekends at a local farm to milk cows at dawn and ride horses bareback to and from the fields.
I remember, when I was 11, I entered an art competition and won first prize! It was the first time in my childhood I felt worthy and like life could be more than the expectations set out for me. From that day on, art gave me somewhere to express myself. It makes me happy and gives me the opportunity to spread happiness with everyone who views my work. I want my art to show people they determine their own path in life, to follow their own dreams and be true to themselves. My inspiration comes from great artists like Sorrolla and John Singer Sargent. Bright, sunny and radiant paintings which portray warmth and happiness. A self-taught artist, I work primarily in oils on canvas because I love the way the paint moves around, like painting with cream. Jeanni and I met at a Leading Women meeting in Cornwall several years ago and I was intrigued with her method of teaching. I sat her entire course and was particularly inspired by the way Jeanni teaches perspective. I highly recommend you give it a go!" |

"Through my weekly Zoom online art lessons with Jeanni (my creative space); I have been able to build my confidence and develop my painting technique. Jeanni's unique teaching style and extensive knowledge, makes lessons both fun and educational. I certainly feel so much more comfortable, knowledgeable and competent since I started painting with Jeanni. My painting has gone from something I would want to hide in a cupboard never to see light of day to something that I am proud to display and share with my friends and family."

I have recently given myself more time to paint after Jeanni’s wonderful lessons and encouragement reinvigorated me, after several years when life and raising a young family had crowded painting out. As a child I went on many painting trips with my dad to the seaside, and my love of painting the sea and sky has never dwindled. I love experimenting with colour and enjoy producing semi-abstract art that I hope might evoke something of the feeling that I get when looking at a sunset or crashing waves or being otherwise immersed in the outside world.
