We sat side by side on the beach, easels out, painting the scene in front of us…
Headlands, cloud layers, crashing waves, wildflowers and reflections — all observed and painted from life.

She listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions, and picked up not just the techniques… but the reasons behind them.
Not copying. Not tracing.
Understanding how it works… and why.

At the end, she gave me a thank-you note that nearly brought me to tears.
