Art is never about outlines… the world isn’t made of black edges. It’s made of light and shade, of depth and distance, of emotion carried through every shift of tone.

When I painted this gull, it wasn’t about copying feathers or wings. It was about letting the brush follow the feeling… freedom, joy, the stillness of belonging in the sky you love.

The marks of paint carry that emotion down through your hand, and if you know how to use the tools… light, shadow, perspective, colour… then the feeling moves through to the viewer too.

This gull became more than a bird in flight… it became a moment of freedom. And that’s what art is… not the lines, but the emotion that lifts you with it.
