As an artist, there’s nothing quite as nerve-wracking as loading your car with finished canvases, knowing that every bump, every sharp corner, could mean a dented frame or a scratched surface. After all, these aren’t just “objects” – they’re hours of love, creativity, and emotion captured in paint.

Over the years, I’ve travelled with canvases to exhibitions, art events, and client commissions across Cornwall and beyond, and I’ve learned a wonderfully simple trick to keep my art safe on the move. Best of all? It’s inexpensive and takes a minute to set up.

The Whiteboard & Blanket Trick

All you need are:

✅ Two or three cheap whiteboards (the kind you can find in office supply shops or blank foam boards).
✅ A thick blanket (an old picnic rug works brilliantly)
