There’s something quite magical about teaching art at the Nare Hotel. Perched above Carne Beach on the Roseland Peninsula, this elegant, timeless hotel has been my creative home for nearly 20 years. It’s a place where the world slows down – where the sea sparkles, the gardens bloom, and guests rediscover what they’re capable of through art. As the Artist-in-Residence, I’ve welcomed guests of every age and ability. From complete beginners to experienced artists, from confident creatives to those convinced they “can’t draw a stick man” – all have joined me under the Cornish sky to sketch, see with fresh eyes, and paint the breathtaking views of Nare Head and beyond.
